Free mortgage calculators for your website
Give your readers and clients quick answers on your own site: what they could afford, what the payment would be, and what breaking a mortgage might cost. Copy one snippet, paste it into your page, and the calculator appears. It is free, there is nothing to sign up for, and it doesn’t collect anything from your visitors.
How they work
Each widget is a simplified version of a full calculator on mortgageskip.ca, and says so plainly. Anyone who wants the fuller picture gets a clear link to the full version. They run entirely in the visitor’s browser: the numbers people type are not sent to us, and not to you either. No cookies, no ads, no sign-up.
To add one, copy its code and paste it where you want the calculator to appear, using your site’s HTML or embed block (“Custom HTML” in WordPress, a “Code” block in Squarespace, “Embed HTML” in Wix). The small script on the last line resizes the calculator as the result changes. If your site builder strips scripts, leave it out and the calculator still works at the height in the first line. Please keep the credit line in place; see the terms below.
How much home can I afford?
Household income, other debts, down payment and rate. It estimates the highest price those could support under the stress test, the 39% and 44% debt limits and the minimum down payment, and says which rule set the limit.
Suits: Buyer guides, first-time buyer pages, neighbourhood and relocation guides.

Mortgage payment calculator
Price, down payment, rate and a 25 or 30-year amortization. It gives the monthly payment with any mortgage insurance premium added to the loan, and flags a down payment below the minimum.
Suits: Listings pages, buyer resources, condo and new-build pages.

Mortgage penalty calculator
Balance, rate, time left in the term, and fixed or variable. It estimates the prepayment penalty, and for a fixed rate shows how the figure differs between the big banks and other lenders.
Suits: Seller pages, move-up and downsizing guides, renewal and refinance articles.

Terms of use for the widgets
Last updated 29 September 2026. Like our other policies, a draft pending legal review.
By embedding a MortgageSkip calculator, you agree to these terms. They sit alongside our Terms of Use and Disclaimer, which also apply.
- It’s free. There is no fee and no registration. You may embed it on as many pages as you like, on sites you own or manage.
- Use the code as provided. Don’t change, cover, crop or hide any part of the calculator, including its wording, the estimate and date, the disclaimer, the link to the full calculator, or the “Powered by MortgageSkip” line. You may change the iframe’s width and height to fit your layout, as long as nothing inside it is cut off.
- Keep the credit link. The credit line under each calculator (for example “Mortgage penalty calculator by MortgageSkip”), with its link, should stay visible next to it. You may style it to match your site and add a
relattribute such asnofollowif your own policies call for one. - Don’t imply a relationship that isn’t there. Embedding the calculator does not mean MortgageSkip endorses, has reviewed, or partners with you, your business or your content. Please don’t say or suggest otherwise.
- Present it as an estimate. Don’t describe the result as a quote, a lender’s figure, or advice, and don’t surround it with copy that pressures people to act. If you are a mortgage agent, broker or other regulated professional, your own disclosure and regulatory obligations are unchanged by using it.
- Where it can go. Not on pages that are unlawful, deceptive, hateful or sexually explicit, that impersonate a lender or government body, or that promote payday loans or similar high-cost credit.
- Privacy. The calculator runs in your visitor’s browser and sends nothing they enter to us or to you. We count views of the widget with the same cookieless analytics we use on our own site, which includes the address of the page it is embedded on. Our Privacy Policy has the details.
- It may change. We may update the calculator’s method, wording or design, or stop offering it, at any time and without notice. We may ask you to remove it, or stop it loading on a particular site, if these terms aren’t being followed.
- No warranty. The calculator is provided as is. Its figures are estimates based on simplified assumptions and can differ from a lender’s actual calculation. To the extent the law allows, MortgageSkip is not liable for decisions made using it.
Linking to MortgageSkip
You don’t need permission to link to MortgageSkip. Link to any public page, including a specific calculator, a lender’s penalty page or a blog post, and use whatever wording describes it fairly.
A few things we ask:
- Link to our pages rather than framing them. Apart from the widget, our pages aren’t built to display inside other sites, and browsers will block it.
- Don’t use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse or partner with you, and don’t copy our calculators, articles or illustrations. Quoting a short passage with a link back is fine.
- Please don’t link to us from pages covered by term 6 above.
